Peer down from your computer screen and you might find a monster!
Our bodies are designed for a life on the plains, long legs for taking strides, elongated torsos that have us breathing air and pumping blood with the efficiency that would make Mercedes proud. But here we are sitting at a computer, hunched and curled in and down. This position shortens our hamstrings on the back of our legs, causing lower back pain. It shortens our abdominal muscles, making us curl forward in our posture, increasing the curve of our upper backs and forcing our head forward. Now, along with the pain we have from muscle tightness it is almost impossible to breathe correctly in this position.
Now in pain and having decreased oxygen how could anyone be expected to focus?
